Identify an instrument part?
I found a part of some instrument in a band room today. It was metal, and the base was about a few inches long. The base was not in the shape of a circle, more like a D. The base was completely flat, and a screw that was all the way in was the only visible part in that end. If you flipped it over It had a screw sticking up in the middle of it and the part of the screw that is usually pointy had a brand new pad on it, not a very large one though. On the same side as the pad it had three almost tear drop shaped metal parts sticking up, with small holes in the middle. ANY clue what this is?
Valve from a brass instrument perhaps.
