Basic Adult Piano
piano book i have is boring? Help?
my teacher is teaching me with (Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course level 1) the songs are VERY wierd and im currently not practicing, because the songs on the book are boring and i have never ever heard of them except like 4 songs in the book. I used to use a really good music book for begginers and it had really great songs i knew, but i forgot the name. Do you have any good beginner music books with really good songs in genre like rock, pop,alternative?

Go to a music store, grab books that interest you, sit down at a keyboard, and try some of them out. When you find one that you really like, buy it, bring it to your teacher, and say, “I’m not inspired by the music in that other book. Can we do something out of this book instead?” Your teacher should be able to generally teach you the same concepts, regardless. Or maybe you’ll need to use a mix of the 2 books, but the important thing is that you are able to work on things that inspire you.
