Hum into your instrument while playing. This is called a growl. Very common in tenor sax players and it’s what the sax player in your link does. I like to use it all the time. You might accidentally stop playing and just hum or vice versa when you are first trying it. but it will take a few minutes to get the hang of it.
Experiment with the pitch you are singing and you will hear a difference in the growl.
