in chitty, chitty, bang bang, why does dick van dyke talk american when his kids, his dad and every one else is english????
yea he did do a really bad accent in mary poppings
I imagine because he’s American and everyone else you mentioned are English and they simply never bothered to disguise the accents.
To be fair…Dick Van Dyke never really did a convincing English accent.
See him in Mary Poppins and you’ll see what I mean.
He probably realised it didn’t work and just didn’t bother again.
