Paladin Guide – Knowing The Knight Of The Holy Light
Paladin, considered the knight in shining armor of the World of Warcraft, is an excellent hybrid melee fighter. A healer and a spell caster, this class is sought after by parties as it, alone, has the ability to revitalize its comrades when they die. But there is more to Paladin than meets the eye. This Paladin guide was made to inform users about the strengths, abilities and weaknesses of this priest/warrior class.
As was previously mentioned, the Paladin protects its comrades from attacks coming from their opponents as well as revive them when they die. But, these pale in comparison to its dedication to protect all that is good and true from being corrupted. It is no wonder then that the Paladin is particularly armed with talents and abilities that are potent against unoly races and classes.
In addition, the Paladin can harness the same holy fervor to protect nearby friendly units. This is in addition to its healing abilities and tanking abilities that protects other players with divine powers. Because it is also half-priest, half-warrior this class of fighters can wield blessings and spells that were specifically designed to each type of player. To top this off, the Paladin is quite hard to kill because it possesses a variety of defensive abilities combined with heavy armor that can withstand heavy physical damage, allowing better and longer-lasting background support for its comrades. With this range of skills, the Paladin serves its purpose well when working with their parties.
The power of the Holy Light, when wielded by the Paladin, can’t be underestimated. It can, for example, restore friendly units back to health and battle undead and unfriendly units at the same time. As such, it can protect Sorcerers, Knights and Priests and kill unholy races and classes such as Death Knights, Dark Lords, and Dark Rangers.
Although this class [wears heavy plate armors-can wear the heaviest and most protective armors], it cannot, however, withstand death caused by focused fire. It is also fairly easy to kill when melee units surround and attack them ceaselessly. It is also not quite effective at defeating melee units during solo playing. During these occasions, the best thing a Paladin can do is to hit the road and find protection.
The main weaknesses of the Paladin comprise of dependence on mana for both defense and offense abilities, limited abilities that can be wielded to deflect attacks coming from enemy units, and lack of ranged capabilities save for the ability to stop wounded opponents from fleeing.
Players can also find a number of challenges to using a Paladin. These include learning and mastering the various aura types and proper blessings for each type of battle, player and occasion, remembering and using player-specific blessings whenever needed, and mastering healing techniques.
The bottom line is, does this Paladin guide support the use of this class? Given that you need a classic melee fighter, it does. But, even while Paladins are very dynamic, they are very much contained with melee combats.
