Flexible Brass

How do you separate two bonded pieces of metal?
I’m trying to repair a grandfather clock which has a broken hinge at the pendulum. The hinge appears to be made out of two 1mm thick pieces of brass with metal strips sandwiched between them. The metal strips are flexible and allow the hinge to move back and forth. Unfortunately, they have broken and cause the pendulum to move erratically. If I could undo the glue and replace the metal strips, the clock would keep time correctly. Any ideas?
Focus your chi while listening to “Kung fu fighting” by Carl Douglas and at the end of the song give that hinge a swift karate chop. Your welcome
