Fox Trot
Explain the rack, stepping pace, fox-trot, single-foot?
Could you please explain the trail versions of the rack, stepping pace, fox-trot, and single-foot? I know walking horses can do these gaits, but they don’t in the show world. Please explain gait beat, leg movement, placement, and pattern, ect. What is desirable and what is not when doing these gaits?
I know all about the flat walk, running walk, and canter of the TWH, but am curious what these other gaits are they can technically do.
A Rack and Single Foot is essentially the same thing – rather than 3 feet on the ground and one moving forward, 3 feet are in the air moving and on is on the ground. You still have your 1.2.3.4. timing. This is 5 gaited ASB, but shows a rack in slo mo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIN-6oyJZ4M
Stepping Pace is the gait between a flat/running walk and a pace, your timing will sound like 1.2 -3.4
