Guitar Method Mastering
Books on mastering jazz guitar?
Hi! I would like to know if there is a book that covers everything I need to know about jazz guitar. I take private lessons, listen to recordings, and harmonize melodies. But I still can’t play anywhere near the level of Joe Pass, Jim Hall, and Pat Metheny.
The books I currently have are:
Modern Method for Guitar Vol. 1,2,3 – William Leavitt
Reading Studies – William Leavitt
The Jazz Theory Book – Mark Levine
I own all 3 real book volumes as well, and I constantly learn tunes by learning the chord changes, single note melodies, and I harmonize to create chord solos.
For some reason, I still have to think them through when I improvise. And I sometimes can’t improvise without stopping for a moment.
Is there something that I’m missing?
