Hawaiian Guitar Sheet
What’s the difference between a plectrum guitar and steel or Hawaiian guitar?
Just found a ton of vintage sheet music written for a PLECTRUM guitar and don’t know what the difference would be.
A plectrum is a single pick like rock n rollers use.
A Hawaiian guitar is sometime called a lap guitar, and is played with a slide (glass or metal) across the lap.
A pedal steel is a country and western guitar where the strings are in a metal frame and foot pedals can alter tones, a famous model is the Sho-Bud. Played with a steel slide. Has a sort of pleasant whining sound, used by the Eagles alot, and thousands of country artists such as Loretta Lynn and Eddie Arnold. It is played with finger picks.
It is possible to use a plectrum and fingers oe finger picks together with great success!
