Why in each mode of tuner a different note is shown on screen?
Hi, My tuner has 4 modes “Guitar” “Bass” “Violin” and ” chromatic”
For my instrument I use “chromatic” mode.It shows number of octave in “violin” , “guitar” and “bass” mode. but only when its mode is “chromatic” it shows no number of octave and just for example C and not C3.
And in each mode a different note is shown on screen.
Why in each mode a different note is shown on screen?

Modes: Because the instruments have a limited range, and tuning is accomplished by open strings
• Guitar: E A D G B E
• Bass: E A D G (an octave lower than guitar)
• Violin: G D A E
In chromatic mode why it doesn’t display A0-C8 is a question for the manufacturer. It probably has to do with either the electronics to drive the display or that the tuner uses the fundamentals and harmonic series, especially the first node (octave), to determine the note that is being played.
