Extreme, Outdoor Kids Play
I can recall many games from my childhood, some being very creative whereas some other ones were quite dangerous and risky. However, the ones me and my friends liked the most where those that were adrenaline-high. The bigger the danger or the uncertainty, the more enjoyment and excitement we were getting.
In order to give you an idea, I will try recall some of the most hazardous ones with the first one being some sort of bicycle chase all around the place. We were divided into 2 teams where the first one was cycling away in order to hide and the second one had to find them. The aim wasn’t just to find the members of the other team but actually touch them physically so they would be caught out. The outcome was incredible chasing all around the neighborhood ignoring everything and everyone that would be on our way. It wasn’t unusual that someone was going to get slightly injured in one of our daily expeditions.
The most memorable one was a game we used to call ourselves ‘explorers’. We were entering abandoned private properties in order to come across some big discovery or secret that we wouldn’t share with any adult. Our greatest discovery was an old mansioned that was abandoned for years but no one ever dared to get into and have a look at it as many thought it was patrolled. There were moments we were actually thinking we where going to come across something big. Security dogs were our biggest nightmare, although we never had the chance to come across them.
Once, we broke into an abandoned warehouse that was owened by an aviation company which had gone bankrupt. Wandering around we were able to find objects we had never seen before, nor could we imagine what they were made for. Most of those object were looking really weird and hostile as noone knew what their use was high density connectors, filter connectors or PCB connectors.
Although it may sound weird, if I had the chance to go back in time I would definitely try those games again and I would even recommend them to my kids.
