Movement Conductor Score

I’m not prepared for to play my solo for a judge;what do I do?
Hi everyone! Well, my big solo is tonight and I’m not prepared to play it! We have to play in front of a judge, however, I don’t know how to play my second movement! I know I should have really pushed myself farther so I’d know the solo better but I didn’t. What would you do in a situation like this? Should I not go? Should I go tell the judge I’m not prepared and thank you for their time, and leave? Should I only play the first movement for him? Please give me some advice!
Thanks!
Ps. The solo only counts for nothing. It won’t get you into anything, it’s only in front of one person, it’s just to improve the soloist’s playing.
PPS, I’m also in a more advanced band, so it’s expected that I do well. My conductor might see the score ![]()
Thanks again for your time. It’s much appreciated
Play it for the judge and take all comments seriously.
You say it counts for nothing. It is a performance, and it shows what you will do when asked to perform.
