Facial Expressions in Lyrical Jazz Dance?
I have my CSTD Jazz grade 5 exam in about a month. I need help on my facial expressions, and feeling the music. My teacher said technique wise it was good while it was still bland, and my face was “dead.” It is to the song Home from the Wiz. It is about the end a dreary, dark, sad winter and flowers start blooming, and the sun is shining. How would I make this dance “flow” and “float” more? And I also need help on my face. She told us to do a half smile, but that kind of comes out at as awkward for me, what do you guys do?
aha, Well just think of something really sad at the start ( doesnt have to be anything to do with the dance as long as you get the emotion for it)
Just try and smile as if something bad has happend, but youve got to smile, like if you get the worst prezent ever from someone but you have to smile anyway,
Or try to think of something you really really want but you cant have, Make your moves strong and big ( you will get more marks)
