World War 2-Era Music?

I find myself really enjoying World War 2-Era music from the “Big Band” era. I would appreciate Answerers giving me as many names or groups that they can name featuring music from the World War 2 Era. I listened to this music my Dad played when I was growing up, then listened again when I got to visit the Confederate Air Force back in the early 80s.

Does anybody know the song that was singing in the movie “Memphis Belle” when the B-17s were on their way during the bombing mission? It was the radioman in the B-17 tuning the radio to AFN and the song the lady was singing had the words “stars are on my ceiling……”

my personal all time singer from that era was vera lynn, the dorsey bros. kay kayser,
benny goodman, bob crosby, ozzie nelson [of the ozzie& harriet show] harry james, sinatra
doris day,cab callaway.here are a few places on the web to get music from that era
oldies.com, cd universe and overstock .com great places to buy music check them out.
love the music from that era,the late 20s to the late 40s like jolson, cantor, ethel merman,
bing crosby, vaughn monroe, jimmy durante [the old schnozola] does this bring back a few
memories.
