Music You Cant

I cant hear music or get any sound off of my Acer Aspire One D150? Could you help me fix the problem?
Ive heard i need to download the driver but i don’t know which one it is.
On the task bar the speaker icon doesn’t show up.
Ive messed with the settings on control panel but im not able to make changes, the dialog box is disabled, it doesn’t let me do anything.
it got formatted two days ago because i had viruses on it and after that its not working.
If you don’t have much data on the netbook I suggest restoring the factory image.
