Note differences between trumpet and alto sax?
My friend and I are in band. I play altp and he plays trumpet. I have the sheet music for some songs and he wants to play them too, but we can’t find them anywhere. It sounds funny when he looks off mine and plays those notes. So… What is the difference between notes? For example if I play a G what is the note on trumpet that would match?
The alto sax’s G is a concert Bb, which on trumpet is C. For the parts to sound the same, the trumpet would play a 5th lower than the alto’s written part.
