Does an Unopened Box of Clarinet Reeds have the Potential to go Bad?
I have a small question regarding clarinet reeds. I have an unopened box of 2 1/2 rico reeds. However, they are several months old. Will they still play as well as new 2 1/2 reeds? Remember, although they are unopened the box has been sitting in an unventilated clarinet case for about 6 months. Any clarinet or saxophone player, please comment.
Those will be fine. I’ve played on a box of reeds that was 40 years old and all they needed was soaking.
