Rolling Stn
My boat will roll left during excelleration and if i turn left it feels like it would roll over. more than 60*?
proline 201 cuddy, 200hp merc, 5 blade stn-stl prop “high five”. dolphin fin on foot also. When the trim is all the way down it will roll left feels like torque. i’ve been running in the sweet spot and trim down a bit to dig and turn if i turn left the boat will lean so far it feels like it will roll over, it has to be more than 60*. i have to yank the throttle back. ANY INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THE SKEG OR ZINC FIN ABOVE THE PROP THAT MOUNTS TO THE CAVITATION PLATE IS NOT ON THERE.
It’s caused by a combination of forces created by the higher torque of the 5 blade prop in conjunction with the Dolphin attachment and lack of a trim tab (zink fin as you call it). In addition to the torque issue, the 5 blade prop is giving you higher bow lift and sinking the transom considerably. I suspect, that’s why the Dolphin was added to lift the stern. The dolphin is biting more to the left because it is reenforced by the prop torque, causing your boat to tip too much.
Try removing the Dolpin first. If that doesn’t work, go to a reputable marina, explain your problem and try to get a couple of different 3 blade props to test drive. You may have to give them a deposit to do this.
