Should I buy “Rico” or “Rico Royal” for alto sax reeds.?
and then it says (2-3 1/2), does that mean it comes in a variety or do you pick?
also what size would be the best for me. (high school) i was guessing a 3.
It depends on the mouthpiece you have.
If you have an open mouthpiece, you better use soft reeds, and harder reeds for closer mouthpieces.
Also, the number of the reed is not all. What kind of sound do you want to get?
Vandoren is more classical. Rico can be used for classical too. If you are going for jazz or rock, rico select jazz might be a good choice.
