Who Benefits From Cheer Music
Has that changed, or are you still listening to those similar artists today?
Floyd Tolston: I listened to most of the music that kids growing up inside the 50′s and 60′s listened to. There had been two radio stations in my hometown. One played pop music and the other nation and western. When the Beatles came along I became a major fan and I loved the folk music of Bob Dylan.
KB: Can you bear in mind the moment that you knew music was one thing you wanted to do?
FT: I had quite a few close friends who had been trying to be musicians. One was a quite good folk singer. I bought an old guitar at a pawn shop and started out trying to learn to play.
KB: You’ve performed music some time now but yet another issue you tackled was the education world. How lengthy was that your career?
FT: I was in education for 35 yrs. Seven yrs as a history teacher and 28yrs in secondary Administration.
Is that the cause you went into both?
FT: I began out in education using the thought of it being a short term job, but I enjoyed it and stayed with it. Music was a thing that I enjoyed doing. I played having a band during my college days and found that for probably the most part it was not something I could make a living doing.
FT: Music will be the tougher of the two professions. In education you do the job that is assigned to you and show up for work daily and do the most effective which you can do. With music you do the most effective that you can do and you nonetheless must achieve overall acceptance from the public so that you can be successful.

FT: I don’t think SS is very as polished as the RC album. SS provides a wider
range of “stories” and styles while RC is closer to challenging line country.
KB: On both of those, you have a song that is turn into somewhat cult favorite in some areas. And what are your words to those who may well say it is offensive?
FT: A couple that I saw at Wal-Mart gave me the inspiration to write the song. There’s somebody who might be offended by anything that you do. If you’re offended by the words to “Wal-Mart Lovers” or any of my songs, don’t listen to them.
KB: Speaking of, have you visited that website peopleofwalmart.com?
FT: Yes, I have visited the People of Wal-Mart site…the pictures just add credence and reality to the words of the song.
