Selections From Conductor
Where can I buy a conductor’s baton in the Los Angeles area?
I want to buy a good baton (preferably fiberglass; I hear wood breaks to easily) but I don’t want to wait a month to get it if I order it online. Are there any music shops in the Los Angeles area that have a good variety of conductors batons in a good price range? I already tried Old Town Music in Pasadena… they didn’t have a very large selection.
Is ordering it online my best bet? What are your top websites to order from & how long did it take for your baton to come in? Especially let me know if it was custom because I’m thinking about going that route.

I suggest you try the music section in the university book store at USC or UCLA or one of the other local college campuses in the area. I would think that these specialty type stores would carry them in the LA area. Before making the long drive you could always call the school in advance just to make sure.
Although I’ve lived in LA for years I bought my batons, both the corked handle fiberglass one and the wood one, at the SMU campus book store in Dallas. And I’ve bought several to give as gifts from the campus book store of TCU in Fort Worth. So I would think any large campus that had a major school of music should carry them in the music section of their book stores.
