How long is sheet music under copyright — how many years after the copyright or the composer’s death?
In the US anything published before January 1, 1923 is in the public domain. After that date it is more complicated and then add in the various length of terms in different countries. Here are two sites that will help with understanding terms of copyright in various locations:
