Is it illegal to copy sheet music for myself?
I won’t be giving it away or anything. See, I bought this sheet music book the other day, and it says do not copy. I just want to know if I can copy it for myself, I plan on putting the images on a USB Memory Device.
actually certain pieces are considered public resources. if you have the time to peruse the internet, there are websites that will allow you to download pdfs of public transcriptions.
however many contemporary pieces or transcriptions are still privately owned. so be weary before you copy something.
