Tenor Soprano Sax

I want to switch from alto sax to soprano sax…?
Ok, so ive been playing the alto sax for 3 years now (i started on the clarinet), but i like the sound of a soprano sax better. If i were to switch, would i have to relearn every note, or are the fingerings the same? For instance, If I play a G on the soprano, would it sound like a G on the soprano? What about tenor sax?
Same fingerings! See my answer to your other question – this is another reason why we built the saxes in those alternating sizes – we get to cover ALL the notes, and not have to re-learn a new instrument – just get used to a new size. The soprano is one octave higher than the tenor. If you play a G on Soprano, it would match the tenor. However, it would be OFF from the alto – Soprano is in Bb, and also is in Eb.
