What’s that sad trombone noise called?

There’s a funny sound effect that trombonists use, with a mute/plunger on their horns, when someone does something stupid or fails at something (used ofter in TV and movies). It’s just two notes, and the first is higher than the other: “WAH-wahhhh.”
