What type of Clarinet should I buy, Bb or A?
I’ve been playing for seven years on a cheap plastic Bb clarinet and want to buy a new good wood one as I’ve just passed my grade 7 exam. I don’t know whether I should buy another Bb or buy an A. The problem is that I won’t be able to play Bb music on the wood clarinet, but buying an A clarinet would open many more options as to what pieces I could play.
Get that new wood B flat The best is BUFFET R13 . If you move into playing orchestra you can transpose OR buy that A matching wood BUFFET
Perhaps when ordering you want a case that holds both as future planning’
AND don’t forget that all new instruments come with mouthpieces that suck. Get them to throw in a selmer HS* . They can include it because they get a big mark up on instruments.
