Is There Any Undiscovered Treasure Hidden In Your Attic
If your attic is anything like mine it probably contains years of accumulated junk; at least that is the way I used to think about it. I have lived in my house for over forty years and have raised my family there. When I moved here with my wife all those years ago I was still in my early twenties. And in all those years here, we have used the attic to store things. Many items have gone up there over the years and now it is hard to fit into the attic from all the items that are packed from rafter to rafter.
My wife has been going on at me for years and years about how we need to do something about the state of the attic. I have always put this off because it seems like such a hard task. However I finally decided to bite the bullet last Sunday and headed up there and I am happy that I did. This job was not the really tough job that I had been expecting and instead I spent a whole day enjoying myself up in the attic. The attic was full of wonderful memories and not jam packed with rubbish which I was expecting. There were items to remind of special times that had completely slipped my mind, and seeing many of my old belongings in the attic was like meeting old friends again.
I really didn’t feel that there was much that I could part with after spending the entire day up there sorting through things. In fact my wife has complained because so many of our old items have once again appeared downstairs. However I don’t think she’s too upset because she seemed just as happy to see some of the things as I was. So my advice to everyone would be to jog your memories by taking a trip up into your attic again for a day.
Having a house with a large attic often means people can think about extending their property. And when we say this we very obviously mean loft conversions. Getting that extra space is now as easy as ever.
